| What to Expect |
|
If you decide you want to continue, we will collect information to determine if a particular study is a good fit for you. This may involve a review of your medical history, evaluation of your medications, a physical exam, lab work, and other procedures. For your safety, it is important that you are completely truthful with our study staff. All information that we collect will remain confidential. If you qualify for a study, you will usually be given study medication. We will follow you through out the study to monitor your reaction to the study medication. It is important that you follow instructions during the study and tell us about any changes you experience. We will continue to encourage your questions, and we’ll do everything we can to make the experience comfortable and rewarding. There is no contract, and you are free to end your participation at any time. Participating in a research study does not replace your regular medical care. We encourage you to let your regular doctor know about your participation in research. We will be happy to share your study records with your doctor. However, we will not release any records without your written permission. Dr. Krause has been conducting safe and successful studies for more than twenty years, and past participants often return to participate in more studies because they enjoyed their experience. |

Before you make a decision about participating in a research study, you will be given as much time as needed to consider all the details of the study. You are encouraged to ask questions and to consult your doctor or loved ones. We’ll tell you everything you need to know, up-front, including your time commitment throughout the length of the study. You’ll know what we expect of you, and you’ll know what to expect from us. Any questions or concerns you have will be addressed and you will not be pressured in any way. We want you to make an informed decision.
